Bolivar Petit Coronas - 25 cigars [5.1" x 42]

The Bolivar Petit Coronas is a best seller among all the Petit Coronas.

  • • The thin ring gauge means this is a very direct and rapid burn and its responsiveness does not falter as it burns.
  • • A rich and exotic blend like this needs some age to be at its best.

Tight dense construction, perfect burn that goes on for the entire length. Rich creamy leathery smoke for the first third then on comes the change in a deep musky satisfying smoke.

Presentation

Bolivar Petit Coronas – 25 cigars comes in a dress box with Habanos Packing Code CB-UW-C/L-12,13-n-25

Dimensions:

Length: 129mm

Diameter: 16.67mm

Ring Gauge: 42

Shape: Petit Corona/Mareva

Appearance:

The Bolivar Petit Corona is a very well constructed, very firm and well packed. An attractive golden brown smooth wrapper with little veins. Semi-box pressed with a nice cap.

Smoking Notes:

Before lighting up

Like most Bolivars, there is a strong scent of wood, as well as cocoa with muskiness on the wrapper.

Burn/ Draw

The cigar lights up very easy. The draw is on the firm side, as expected from the beginning, but it's not at all unpleasant. Any uneven burn quickly evens out, while thick grey ash is forming and stays perfectly on the cigar. Yields billowing clouds of rich smoke.

Initial third:

It is medium bodied in the beginning, with a strong taste of earth and wood, with some hints of spice.

Middle third:

The cigar turns into full bodied, with lots of spice. The draw is slightly looser, but still firm. The flavors are more complex, with the earthy flavor being more intense. The tones of vanilla, cocoa and coffee appear. The creaminess begins.

Final third:

All very well balanced with spice, wood, cocoa and fruits, delivers full and robust creamy flavors. If smoked slowly, the cigar smokes well until the end without becoming hot or overwhelming. A lot of aging potential. Smoke this vitola slowly.

Smoking time:

60 - 90 Minutes

I got a box of these about 6 months ago, and have smoked one every 6-8 weeks as they settle in. I had read that powerful Bolivar Habanos can take years to come into their own, and this seems to be an example. The first two were really disjointed and off, with tight, sparse draws and uneven burns. Since then, I've cut the cap and dryboxed them for an many days as it takes for the moist young tobacco to shrink, and get a reasonable draw (up to 9 days). The taste is beginning to round out, but is still woody and sharp. I fully expect they will become 5-star cigars, but they're not there yet. For a luscious mareva with little waiting, I recommend the Monte 4 and the Partagas PCE, and the latter is far less expensive than the Bolivar PC.

Just got in the box of these great sticks , the draw appears a little stiff but if pulled easy you get plenty of smoke , it’s a very smooth tasting cigar all the way to a nub , medium body that gets pretty spicy on the last third of the stick ! Overall really nice cigar especially for the price point ! Will continue to purchase !
