Hoyo De Monterrey

Hoyo De Monterrey

Hoyo de Monterrey takes its name from a tobacco plantation in San Juan y Martinez, in the heart of the Vuelta Abajo. "Hoyo" means a hollow, for the plantation's low-lying fields by the river. Jose Gener, a Spaniard from Tarragona who already had a factory in Havana, first used the name for his cigars in 1865, and his family kept the brand until 1931.

We carry the Epicure family (No.1, No.2, No.3, Especial, de Luxe), the Le Hoyo series (des Dieux, du Prince, du Roi, de San Juan, de Rio Seco, and more), Double Coronas, Churchills, Palmas Extra, Petit Robustos and a selection of limited editions and Casa del Habano releases.

The Hoyo de Monterrey sold in the United States is a separate Honduran brand; this page is the Cuban original.
