Length: 129mm

Diameter: 16.67mm

Ring Gauge: 42

Shape:  Petit Corona/Mareva

The Petit Corona is a very well constructed, very firm and well packed. An attractive golden brown smooth wrapper, with little veins.

Smoking Notes:

Before lighting up:

The cigar is very well constructed, very firm and well packed. It has a smooth, oily, chocolate wrapper, with little veins with a lightly colored wrapper and nice cap.

The cigar lights up very easy. The draw is on the firm side, as expected from the beginning, but it's not unpleasant. Any uneven burn quickly evens out, while thick grey ash is forming and stays perfectly on the cigar. Yields billowing clouds of smoke.

Initial third:

It is medium bodied in the beginning, with hints of earth and wood, with hints of spice.

Middle third:

The cigar turns into cream, with some of spice. The draw is slightly looser, but still firm. The flavors are more complex, with the earthy flavor being more intense. The tones of vanilla and coffee appear. It is very creamy.

Final third:

Spice, wood, cocoa and fruits, all well balanced, deliver full and robust creamy flavors. If smoked slowly, the cigar smokes well until the end, without becoming hot or overwhelming. A lot of aging potential.

In summary, the Por Larranaga Petit Corona is one of the best marevas of the Cuban size. A very tasty cigar with well balanced flavors.

Smoking time:  60 - 90 Minutes

After all the chatter about these I finally picked up a box to try. Pleasantly surprised by the smooth creamy flavors throughout. A nice mild smoke that can be enjoyed with a cup of java or espresso and I expect they will only get better with age.
Aging potential but enjoyable fresh too , 12/1/2018

You can’t find a better value than these. This is a cigar that those in the know will age a few years to bring out its sweet goodness. The beauty of the 50 cab as that you can also enjoy a few in the near term. Sampling mine at one year reveals a spicy sweet creamy smoke that I enjoy immensely knowing that in the years to come it will only get better. A humidor staple of any serious collector. The cab I received from Cigar Terminal is absolutely perfect. Dark and oily, beautiful cigars.

The oily wrapper makes your mouth water, and the creamy sweet taste just makes you want it to last longer than it does.

Everyone should have a box of these in their humidor!

When you smoke a lot of Cubans, it is good to have something a little different. This cigar give you a rich mix of flavours which most of you will not have experience before. You can tell that these will get better over time as the flavours settle down into a more balance cigar.

Love them, and have trouble not grabbing one every time I want a cigar.

Reviewer MWaller nailed it. These taste terrible off the truck. But after a few short months in the humidor, OMG! What an awesome Cigar. And you get 50 of them for a very, very good price.

I guess this "taste terrible off the truck" phenomenon applies to a lot of cigars after shipping. I've learned to keep a stash of stogies that have been in the humidor for a few months so that I won't be tempted to smoke the new incomings. Smoking the cigars within a few days of receiving them is really such a waste of money and can give you a bad impression of some amazing cigars. Even the best cigars can taste just horrible the first few days after delivery. But a month or two later, they revert to their true nature--that of amazing, delicious Cuban cigars.

Strangely, not every cigar suffers from shipping. Two that come to mind are the Cohiba Esplendido and the Pargagas Lusitania. For some reason, I can smoke these almost right out of the shipping box and they taste very close to their true flavor. But the large majority of smokes taste awful, and are virtually unsmokeable within the first week or so. And that is true of these Por Larranagas. But man, when they get a chance to breathe a little, the transformation is awesome.
