top of the lineThis is a cigar everyone likes, myself included. A strong blend, not for a beginner who rarely smokes or their introduction to Cuban products. The first puff brings you instant pleasure and stays on this path throughout the whole cigar. Never had a bad one but goes very well with a strong drink or on it's own but not on an empty stomach. Truly a classic for a seasoned cigar smoker.

First Time TryingGot a box of these with my last order and I must say....it won't be my last. More flavor than a Short but very balanced and highly enjoyable! Had my first 'D' with a glass of 18 year old Oban and cant wait to do it again!!

An awesome robustoI keep a couple of boxes of the 4Ds in the humidor. Its great to relax after work with a scotch or two and one of these cigars. The draw is firm but never makes you work at it and I have never had a plugged one either. The smoke is full bodied rich and creamy. Gets better halfway through and continues until you reluctantly have to ditch the end. Burns evenly and slowly I could go on but you get the idea just a beaut cigar buy some.

Great example of Cuban greatnessGreat cigars, full bodied flavours and smooth profile and some good touches of spice. You should try giving it a retrohale to get the most out of the blend.
I got some good leather flavours, hints of honey and white pepper. As the cigar progressed I got some oaty notes with small and very subtle cinnamons and woody notes. Near the end of the power of the cigar starts to show more wood notes with small hints of that sweetness. On the retrohale the pepper tingles the nasal passage but overall stays very pleasant.
The burn line can sometimes prove a little uneven but it does usually straighten out if you let it. It leaves a nice dark grey ash which will hold for a good 2 inches if you dare let it get that big. The draw is easy and consistent across multiple cigars.
If you can get a couple of years of age in the humidor on these cigars then you are in for a real treat as they start to get very tasty and the complexity builds up to give out more of the subtle sweeter notes.
Great when paired with a good peated whisky or a premium rum. One of my favourite pairings is Nikka White Label.Posted on

Legendary Cuban Rubusto PSD4Very thick and creamy, rich smoke coating on the palate. Smooth and very intoxicating smoke on retro-hale. Medium to full strength. Easy draw, perfectly filled, top notch construction. Amazing complex flavors and aromas building on each puff everything Cuban tobacco can offer: bitter chocolate, leather, earth, exotic spices, wood, mild pepper, touch of sweetness, etc. The Partagas Serie D No. 4 possesses a seductive power, it is quite strong but it is so well balanced. It can be easy to over-puff and get hot. When young, they may bite the palate, masking more subtle nuances in the smoke, with an acrid harshness on the final third, but it's always a pleasure to smoke at any age. 6 months of age can smooth them out dramatically. They are famous and popular because they are usually good (at worst) to fantastic out of the box all the time. A must try.
Boxcode was MGA DIC 10.Posted on

A classic for good reasonI'm not the most refined taster, so I won't belabor with top motes and undercurrents. Bottom line for me is that; this is an amazingly tasty stick that delivers full body, complex and interesting flavors, all without clobbering you over the head with too much strength. When getting into full-bodied Habanos, it's all too easy to get something that's gonna kick your ass and drive away before you're even half done with the stick - not so with the the Partagas D4. I love these guys.

One which I must haveI had to get another box of the Partagas Serie D No. 4 since the last one did not last very long. This is one cigar that should be in every humidor stable. It is smaller in size with 50 ring gauge and 4.8 inches in length but don’t let that deceive you; size doesn’t matter here. It is a medium body cigar with flavors you can enjoy with morning coffee or a quickie after dinner smoke or an all-nighter. This is one of few cigars which I smoke until my fingers are burned; it is a very sad moment when I have to let her go.
Construction is solid, nice wrapper and great draw which makes this a pleasurable smoke.

Partagas Serie D No. 4What can I say that hasn't already been said. This is a classic and is one of my all time favorites. I just smoked a stick from Sept 2011. Showed the classic Patagas Serie D No 4 taste but had overtones of ammonia. Will age well if I have the patience. I enjoy this cigar too much to wait.
