The H.Upmann No.2 is one of Cuba's most popular vitola, a delicious medium Pyramid, 6.1” (156mm) long, of 52 ring gauge, and comes in a 25 cigars box. It is right up there with the Montecristo No.2. However the flavors are very recognizable as H.Upmann, but the pointy shape of this cigar gives a smoke that is unique in this brand. Very clean taste, no harshness, and medium body give for a perfectly rounded smoke. A cigar that will become even more popular with time. A Pre-1960 release.

  1. Nice cigar

First time trying this cigar. Burn was a little uneven with one. It had a cedar, leathery flavor. I'm going to let them age in the humidor for a little while. Overall, it was a nice smoke that I think will improve with time.

After storing for about a year in the humidor these cigars we're incredible. Age did them wonders.

  3. Different from the Monte #2

I found this cigar to be considerably stronger than the Monte #2. More earthy and leather notes. My stick was still quite young and I imagine the flavors will smooth out with some time. Where as the Monte had more bakers spice and sweetness the Upmann has more leather and pepper spice. I got quite a nicotine kick from the Upmann as well but I figure that was do to it being still a bit green. Definitely a nice contrast to the Monte in my opinion.

  4. Great staple cigar
    Rating

This is one of my staple cigars. I have three humidors, two at home and one at the cabin. All do, and will always, contain H. Upmann No.2s. I love the leathery taste and enjoy these as a cold weather smoke. Most come rolled well with a good draw. I find they are more resilient in the humidor than some and can withstand moderate fluctuations in humidity and temperature more than, say, a Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure Especial.

Perfect draw and burns well to the end. It can be a little bitter in the final two inches but I don't know too many people who smoke until their beard starts to burn. I highly recommend that new smokers spoil themselves from the get go with No.2s. You won't have to look much further for quality cigars.

  5. Always in my humidor

I have vowed to always keep an available supply of the Upmann #2 in my humidor. The combination of a favorable start, to its more elaborate finish makes this one of the best smokes in the medium range of Cuban cigars. I've smoked the Upmann #2 with seasoned cigar lovers who prefer a stronger cigar, as well as with those who prefer the milder side, both resulting in a smile on their face and a conversation about the cigar. It's a Must Have in your humidor.

I got a box because every ones reviews were good on this cigar. I love it. It's a little light but no shortage of taste. Almost perfect build , draw rates a 5 maybe 5.5. I am going to get more!

I thought this was a very good cigar. It reminded me more of a Bolivar very strong yet smooth. Good cigar and nice price.

  8. Good, not great

Bought a box without testing based on previous reviews (elsewhere) indicating that these are better than the Monte 2. The Upmann starts out a little too peppery, and although this does mellow out by the second third, it does not quite reach the smoothness of the Monte. Perhaps these will improve with age.

  9. Easy to enjoy...

Purchased from Cigar Terminal a year ago. A year long rest has done wonders for this Cuban cigar. Not too strong... Just right. I enjoyed today on the deck and the warm sunshine. A slightly sweet vegetal taste, easy smoking and very relaxing.

  10. Needs time to get great...

I find these more consistent than the Monte 2's, but more tannic. They need about 4 years minimum to really meld together harmoniously. They have a creamier and earthier essence than the Monte, with less cocoa bean, and more mineral elements.
