Presentation:

Ramon Allones Specially Selected  – 25 cigars comes in a Dress Box of cedar with Habanos Packing Code CB-UW-C/L-12,13-n-25

Dimensions:

Length: 124mm

Diameter: 19.85mm

Ring Gauge: 50

Shape:  Robusto

Appearance:

The Ramon Allones Specially Selected is very well presented. It is box pressed and has dark, oily and shiny wrapper with no flaws. The triple cap is rounded and well applied. The cigar is well packed and firm, with the foot being spongier.

Smoking Notes:

Before lighting up:

The pre-light aroma has some cedar tones and sweet tobacco scents. The pre-light draw is sweet, easy and mouth watering. The cigar is nicely rolled with no soft spots.

Burn/Draw:

The draw is perfect, and the cigar delivers a thick and rich smoke with a long, spicy finish. The ash is solid, grey in color and stays in the cigar half way down. When it falls off, it reveals a perfectly shaped coal, the burn gets even and stays like that until the end.

Initial third:

The cigar starts with some cedar tones with a cracked pepper finish.  It quickly gives way to hints of black cherry and honey sweetened coffee with some mild almond undertones that made their appearance after approximately 1 cm. The cigar remains sweet with small hints of salt on the lips for the first third. The best way to describe the sweetness of this cigar would be “creamy sweet” often tasting like a very rich and creamy cappuccino sweetened with a touch of honey.

Middle third:

The cigar remains cool, never heating up yielded so much smoke, and tasty creamy smoke at that. The hint of bitter black coffee experienced at the halfway point quickly gives way again to sweet coffee, honey and black cherry flavors with the occasional nutty and very subtle pepper undertones.

Final third:

The final third is absolutely mouthwatering. By then the flavors are blended perfectly. Do not be forced to the nub no matter how much you are enjoying it or it will bite you with heat and bitterness.

To summarize; this cigar is full bodied and delicious from foot to cap. To be savored slowly.

Smoking time: 45 - 90 Minutes

Nice smoke with age , 10/26/2017

A very nice cigar. Mine was still a little young so it came off with subtle spicy notes, but still very smooth. I would say a mild to medium body as far as Cubans go. Very nice treat for a special occasion.
Another beautiful cigar from the sampler pack. , 10/8/2017

I received this cigar as part of the sampler pack. It is a very well rolled cigar with no flaws in the wrapper. The cigar itself smoked beautifully with no issues at all. I keep all of my cigars at 65% RH and would recommend that for all Cubans. The ash was very tight. Great flavor and aroma's from the cigar as well. Would recommend.
Very, very mild , 10/3/2017

Love Cigar Terminal! Thank you guys for everything!

This cigar, however, fits more into the like category.

Smoked one out of the box upon arrival. Very empty in terms of flavor. Like smoking strong air.

I put the cigars in my humidor and waited a while and more flavor came through on the next one. Still, not much to write about. Would seriously prefer a Cohiba Esplendido or a non-Cuban LFD Digger natural for the same price.

I'm a flavor guy....and if a cigar doesn't have much flavor, I'd rather be doing something else.

Perhaps in a year or so these will mature in my humidor as others have. I will update my review if any improvement takes hold.

Nothing wrong with it...just very mild
Heady & Quality Smoke , 9/26/2017
By Juan Capistrano
Smoked about a half dozen out of my PET Oct 2016 box and they've been extremely consistent.

I love this smoke after a meal paired with a scotch, rye or cognac. I agree with most reviews that have this stick at full bodied with strong hits of tobacco, espresso, cocoa and a touch of spice. I do veer from most reviews at I do it but I find it strong and a heady smoke. Wouldn't smoke this in the morning or afternoon or paired with a mild libation. It's a nighttime delight. I find myself grabbing these over the other more $$$ robustos in my humidor. I will be ordering another box of these in the next 6 months.
Great Draw , 7/17/2017

I got this as part of the sampler pack. I let it rest in the humi for about a week before I smoked this to let the humidity balance out. Great smoke, great draw and flavor. For robustos, my favorite is still the Partagas Series D No.4, but this is pretty good for the price. Flavor just has a bit more harshness compared to the Partagas .
