H.Upmann

H. Upmann is one of the oldest Cuban brands. Hermann Upmann, a German from Bremen who came to Havana on banking and trading business, bought a cigar factory there and began making cigars under his name in 1844. Upmann is often credited with being the first to pack cigars in cedar boxes, and the medals the brand won at exhibitions in the 19th century still decorate its boxes. According to the John F. Kennedy Library, President Kennedy had more than a thousand of his favourite Petit Upmanns bought just before he signed the trade embargo on Cuba.

We carry the Magnum family (46, 50, 54 and 56), the No.2, Sir Winston, Half Coronas, Coronas Junior, Major and Minor Tubos, Connoisseur No.1 and No.2, Regalias, Royal Robustos, Majestic and a selection of limited editions and Casa del Habano releases.

The H. Upmann sold in the United States is a separate Dominican brand; this page is the Cuban original.
