Bolivar

Bolivar

Bolivar is named after Simon Bolivar, the general who led much of South America to independence from Spain, whose portrait is on the band. The brand was founded in Havana in the early 20th century by Jose F. Rocha. After Rocha's death it was bought by the Cifuentes family, owners of Partagas, and production moved to the Partagas factory, where most Bolivar cigars are still made. Bolivar has long had a reputation as one of the fuller-bodied Cuban brands.
