The Vegas Robaina Famosos is a delicious and smooth medium-full Corona Extra, 5" (127mm) long, of 48 ring gauge, and comes in a 25 cigars box. It is surely a Robusto to place among the top 5, and in direct competition to Ramon Allones. It is a medium-to-strong flavor cigar, very rich with lots of woody and earthy flavors, and some spicy touch. The “Linea de Oro”, literally the “golden line” in Spanish is the pendant of the Maduro 5 line for the Cohiba, the top of the crop among the Romeo y Julieta brand, launched to celebrate the brand's 145th anniversary. Habanos released three totally new cigars, which are among the biggest ring gauge cigars available among Habanos, the Hidalgos, the Nobles and Dianas. The Nobles vitola is called a Triangulares, 56 ring gauge by 5 ⅜ inches and, as the other two, comes in a refined high lacquered box of 20 cigars. One can right away see that these cigars are different from the regular production line, as the box is painted in a very elegant red and gold colors, adorned with an embossed golden medallion on the lid, representing the classic balcony scene. Each cigar comes with a specific Linea de Oro band with the name of the cigar as well as a secondary golden band at the foot. This cigar deserves more consideration, despite the fact that its big brother, the Specially Selected, gets all the attention. It is also suffering from the harsh competition from other Habanos like Partagas Petit Corona, Montecristo No.4, Bolivar Petit Coronas, Cohiba Siglo II, San Cristobal De La Habana El Principe, and Por Larranaga Petit Coronas which are all outsanding smokes. The Ramon Allones Gigantes is a Habanos superstar, a rich medium-full Double Corona, 7.6” (194mm) long, of 49 ring gauge, and comes in a 25 cigars box. It is an impressive long cigar, which is perfectly rolled, using long filler and tobacco leaves from Vuelta Abajo region. It is more than just a bigger Ramon Allones Specially Selected, despite having typical Ramon Allones flavors; it has its own character. A very complex smoke, with lots of nutty, floral, leathery, cedar aromas among others, and with a very smooth and creamy profile. Maybe the best Ramon Allones out there, and definitely in the top 5 Double Coronas out of Cuba. A great after dinner kind of smoke. It is a cigar that is not too strong, and then can be enjoyed both by experienced smokers and new comers to Cuban cigars. Más información

The Rafael Gonzalez Perlas is a Cuban beauty, a medium-full bodied Petit Corona, 4" (102mm) long, of 40 ring gauge, and comes in a 25 cigars box. One of the most recent cigars of the Rafael Gonzalez lineup, (released in 2011), and is a pretty short smoke, perfect for a morning break. Its construction is great; it's perfectly rolled and feels nice between the fingers. It smokes beautifully, rather slowly and has a nice creamy profile but also develops some powerful woody aromas. There are also some creamy aromas, some coffee, some spices from pepper and some berries touches. The finish is long, with vanilla and some floral aftertaste. The vitola used for this Seleccion Especial is the very rarely used Fortuna, similar to a Double Robusto.
