Appearance:

The Punch Princesas Edición Limitada 2025 arrives in a luxurious semi boîte nature cabinet of 20 cigars, specially designed to commemorate the 185th anniversary of the Punch brand. The presentation feels both classic and celebratory — a tasteful nod to Punch’s 19th-century heritage while maintaining the understated elegance collectors appreciate from the Edición Limitada series. Each cigar wears three bands: the striking main Punch 185 Aniversario band, the distinctive black-and-gold “Edición Limitada 2025” band, and an elegant foot band that elevates its exclusivity even further. The cigar itself, in the Edmundo format (52 x 135mm), feels substantial in hand — compact yet powerful in presence. The wrapper displays a mature reddish-brown Colorado hue with a silky sheen and fine oils visible under light. Veins are minimal, the surface smooth and well-pressed. The triple cap is perfectly applied, and construction appears meticulous, reflecting its totally handmade long filler craftsmanship using Vuelta Abajo tobacco aged for a minimum of two years.

Smoking Notes:

Before lighting up

At cold, the wrapper releases aromas of cedar, cocoa powder, and subtle barnyard earthiness. There is a gentle sweetness — almost reminiscent of dried fruit and toasted bread. The foot reveals deeper tobacco richness with faint hints of leather. On the lips, the pre-light draw is clean and balanced, offering notes of mild spice, light cocoa, and fresh wood. The tobacco feels firm yet springy — a sign of careful bunching and aging — promising a composed and refined smoking experience.

Burn/ Draw

After a precise cut, the draw offers the ideal level of resistance — neither too tight nor too loose. Airflow is effortless yet controlled, allowing full appreciation of the flavor nuances. Upon lighting, the cigar ignites evenly and produces a steady, generous stream of creamy smoke. The burn line is clean and mostly straight, requiring minimal correction. It stays lit confidently, even when left resting briefly in the ashtray — a testament to its careful construction.

Initial third:

The Princesas opens with refined smoothness. Light pepper appears first but remains restrained, quickly giving way to toasted tobacco, cedar, and soft leather. Subtle cocoa undertones and a faint earthy sweetness develop in the background. The smoke is medium-bodied from the outset, silky and rounded, with no harshness. The ash forms firm and compact, pale grey in color, holding well past the first inch. Flavor clarity is impressive — balanced and elegant rather than overpowering — making it immediately approachable.

Middle third:

In the middle third, the richness deepens without overwhelming the palate. Toasted bread and cedar intensify, while creamy textures begin to coat the smoke. Hints of roasted nuts and mild cocoa return, accompanied by a slightly more pronounced yet still refined spice. The cigar remains perfectly balanced — strength comfortably in the medium range. The draw continues flawless, and the burn requires virtually no attention. The ash remains stable and contributes to a cool, even smoke. This is where the cigar shows its maturity and harmony, favoring complexity over brute force.

Final third:

The final third maintains composure and elegance. The flavor profile shifts slightly toward leather and deeper earth, with lingering toasted notes and a soft creamy finish. Any earlier bitterness has disappeared, replaced by smooth warmth and cohesion. The strength edges slightly toward medium-plus but never becomes harsh. The cigar remains cool until the final draws, and it is reluctantly set down only when heat nears the fingers. Consistency through all thirds is one of its strongest attributes.

The Punch Princesas Edición Limitada 2025 is a beautifully balanced, medium-bodied anniversary release that delivers smooth richness, refined complexity, and impeccable construction — a cigar that smokes superbly now and is poised to grow even more harmonious and collectible with 3–5 years of aging.
