Romeo y Julieta

Romeo y Julieta

Romeo y Julieta was founded in Havana in 1875 by Inocencio Alvarez and Manin Garcia and named after Shakespeare's lovers. Its great promoter was Jose "Pepin" Rodriguez Fernandez, who bought the brand in 1903 and made it known across Europe and the Americas, racing a horse he named Julieta. After Winston Churchill visited Cuba in 1946, the brand's long 7 x 47 size took his name, and the Churchill became the best-known Romeo y Julieta and a standard size across the cigar world.

We carry the Churchill family (Churchills, Wide, Short and Petit Churchills, in boxes and tubes), the No.1, No.2 and No.3 Tubos, Mille Fleurs, Belicosos, Exhibicion No.3 and No.4, Cedros de Luxe, the Linea de Oro, the Club, Mini and Puritos cigarillos, and a selection of limited editions.

The Romeo y Julieta sold in the United States is a separate Dominican brand; this page is the Cuban original.
