Smoking Notes:

Before lighting up

At cold, the cigar presents a combination of sweet and earthy aromas, with a hint of the typical barnyard and hay notes.

Burn/ Draw

The cigar started with a slightly uneven burn, but the ash looked appealing, displaying a nice white color, albeit flaky. The draw was loose but the flavors were excellent: some pleasant wood and leather.

Initial third:

Initially, the Allones No.3 started with some typical Cuban flavors of earth and leather, with the earth being more dominant than the leather. Overall, it is reminiscent of the Ramon Allones Specially Selected with a touch of pronounced fruity notes. The cigar delivered coffee and malted flavors with a hint of strength, accompanied by grassy and fruity undertones.

There is also a hint of spice lingering in the background. The first third offers a balanced mix of wood, leather aromas. It maintains a consistent medium strength and delivers pleasing flavors of coffee. Having rested the cigar in the humidor for a few weeks, the cigar soon transforms into something fantastic, with wonderful notes of coffee, spicy cedar, and a delightful fruity sweetness. It smokes incredibly well, and the flavors improve with each minute. The complexity of the aromas, including earth, leather, roasted coffee bean sweetness, and creamy butteriness, adds to the enjoyment. The cigar is not as strong as expected, striking a good balance that allows the flavors and aromas to shine without overwhelming the smoking experience. Overall, a very good and enjoyable Cuban stick with improved flavors throughout the smoking session.

Initially, the smoke output was moderate, which was acceptable. However, as the cigar progressed, the smoke output improved significantly. The ash displayed a beautiful matte gray color and burned evenly throughout the smoking experience. The stick performed exceptionally well, with the smoke output increasing as it went on. The ash remained solid and held on impressively until the end of the third.

Middle third:

The ash remains solid and holds on well, even beyond the halfway mark, displaying a medium gray color. The cigar continues to offer enjoyable notes of cedar, wood, leather, and some cinnamon. In the medium part of the smoking experience, the flavors are rich and very pleasing.

As the cigar reaches the halfway point, the burn has been acceptable, requiring minor touch-ups. The draw has improved, firming up from its loose beginning.

Final third:

Towards the end of the Ramon Allones Allones No.3, the strength increases, and the flavors of leather, earthiness, and wood persist, creating a well-rounded profile. The cigar offers beautiful flavors, such as sweetness, cedary spiciness, and coffee notes, but also exhibits some typical harshness of a young Cuban cigar.

In summary: we highly recommend trying the No.3, as it has been one of the best Cuban cigars recently. The potential is immense, and with proper aging, it has the potential to rival cigars like the Montecristo Wide Edmundo.

Smoking time:

60 minutes – 1 hour 30 minutes
