Established in the roaring 20’s, Rafael González brand was first marketed as La Flor de Marquez, and was the first marca to develop the Lonsdale vitola with the Cervantes (now discontinued). The Lonsdale gets its name from Hugh Cecil Lowther, the Fifth Earl of Lonsdale, a famous British sportsman and cigar lover. Rafael González is known for hand rolling medium bodied cigars using long filler (Tripa larga, Totalmente a Mano). Its best sellers are the Rafael Gonzalez Perlas, the Rafael Gonzalez Petit Coronas and the Rafael Gonzalez Panetelas Extra.

With over 90 years of history, this iconic brand continually reinvents itself to captivate aficionados. The Rafael González Coronas de Lonsdales is presented in a semi-boite nature box containing 10 Habanos, entirely handmade with long filler, following a meticulous selection of leaves sourced from the Vuelta Abajo region, renowned for producing the world's finest tobacco. Last year, the bands on the line underwent a makeover, enhancing their visual appeal.

The Rafael Gonzalez Perlas is a medium-full Petit Corona, 4" (102mm) long, of 40 ring gauge, and comes in 5 packs of 5 cigars. One of the most recent cigars of the Rafael Gonzalez lineup, (released in 2011), and is a pretty short smoke, perfect for a morning break. Its construction is great; it's perfectly rolled and feels nice between the fingers. It smokes beautifully, rather slowly and has a nice creamy profile but also develops some powerful woody aromas. There are also some creamy aromas, some coffee, some spices from pepper and some berries touches. The finish is long, with vanilla and some floral aftertaste.
