The Partagas Capitols announced in 2017, are finally here. Splendid little cigars, 5” (129mm) by 42, they come in retro style metal packs of 5 cigars. These are true Partagas cigars, rolled with tobacco grown in the Vuelta Abajo zone, and offer rich and balanced typical Cuban flavors: wood, leather, pepper. The Romeo y Julieta Linea de Oro Hidalgos, part of the new top tier segment of the brand, is a delicious Robusto, which comes in a box of 20 cigars. The “Linea de Oro”, literally the “golden line” in Spanish is the pendant of the Maduro 5 line for the Cohiba, the top of the crop among the Romeo y Julieta brand, launched to celebrate the brand's 145th anniversary. Habanos released three totally new cigars, which are among the biggest ring gauge cigars available among Habanos, the Hidalgos, the Nobles and Dianas. The Hidalgos vitola (also called Hidalgos), is 57 ring gauge by 4 ⅞ inches and, as the other two, comes in a refined high lacquered box of 20 cigars. One can right away see that these cigars are different from the regular production line, as the box is painted in a very elegant red and gold colors, adorned with an embossed golden medallion on the lid, representing the classic balcony scene. Each cigar comes with a specific Linea de Oro band with the name of the cigar as well as a secondary golden band at the foot. The Hidalgos, Nobles and Dianas are all stronger than the regular Romeo y Julieta cigars, their strength around medium to full.
